Creating Animation

 

Stop Motion Pro can be used to create professional animation. It has a free trial version available. However the trial version has a 20 second limit for exports.

 

Simplified versions of Stop Motion software/applications are listed below. Click on the icon to learn more about each option.

 

Animation Creator is an application that enables creation of animation on an apple mobile device or tablet.

Flipbook is an application available on Mac devices that enables the quick creation of animation and bring doodles to life. This app allows more creativitiy than Go Animate and Voki which provide pre-made options for characters.

Go Animate is a tool for animation, which contains a variety of characters and sounds. This is a payed tool, however it is easy to operate and a free trial version is available.

Voki is a free tool for the creation of animation that was specifically desgined for educators.

Videoscribe allows for the creation of whiteboard animated videos which can be useful for presentations, projects and peer turorials. It is a paid program. However, it has a free 7 day trial available.

iMotion is a free application avaiilable on Mac Devices. It is an intruitive tool that produces HD stop motion animations of unlimited size. A Pro version of iMotion is also available for purchase.

Powtoon is a tool that enables several functions, one of which is animation. It is free and tutorials are available. 

For Android users, Stop Motion Lite is an option and works on the go in a similar manner to iMotion. Once finished, the project can be exported into a ".mov" file.

Video Editing

 

After completing your animation or using a variety of tools to create several animated videos, you may wish to combine them by using a video editor. Please see the Editing Software section for more information on the different video editing tools available. You may also choose to create an animated video by taking photographs of a uploading drawings to one of the mentioned video editing programs such as explained in this video:
